Tchaikovsky
  • BtVS watcher since: I watched the very first episode, 'Welcome to the Hellmouth' when it aired in Britain. Several episodes made me watch more regularly though; these including 'Becoming' and 'Restless'.
  • Hanging out at the ATPoBtVS Posting board since: about July 2002. Decided to post after a couple of months, when I decided that maybe I wasn't too inferior, and couldn't keep my big nose out of other people's threads any longer.
  • Origin of posting name: The initials of my name are TCH. Tchaikovsky was the only name I could think of starting with these three letters. And he was vaguely cultural, so I supposed it wasn't too bad a name.
  • Age / species / day-job: 19 / male, mostly / student, if that counts as a job, which it probably doesn't.
  • Most memorable BtVS/AtS quote: Well now. Ummm. In need of Psyche here: ANGEL: That's everything, huh? No weapons, no friends. No hope. Take all that away and what's left?
    BUFFY: Me.
    From 'Becoming'.
Or, more cheerfully, and as many other people have put, Spike's taunting of Angel in 'In the Dark'. you know the lines '... Quickly! To the Angel-mobile! Away!'
  • Favorite philosopher: CS Lewis had some good thoughts. Nietzsche had some revolutionary ones. But philosopher means 'lover of wisdom'. So, let's broaden out a bit. I'm thinking Darwin. The single greatest discovery ever. Done by loving to find out about the natural world. A true philosopher.
  • TTMQ: Lucky 7. I don't think I'm quite up there with some of your geniuses. but I'm working on it.
  • Strangest thread topic ever posted: The long and at times intense discussion of whether Tara's surname MacLay was a double entendre was extremely odd. It also contained one of the bizarre denouements I've read, with Cleanthes discussing the origins of several names so academically that it was impossible to follow. And HonorH's magnificent reply: 'Cleanthes, love, do you even know what you're talking about?'.
  • Coolest thread topic ever posted: I loved the comparison of Spike to Melville's 'Bartleby the Scrivener' the other day. So obscure, and so revealing. And it got virtually no replies. There's no accounting for taste. Also, let me be the first to say in this section that the AtPoBtvS Musical by Dedalus was magnificent.
  • Why I love this board more than unlife itself: All threads by Shadowkat or OnM. All replies by Rahael or Fresne. The humour of HonorH, (in both incarnations). Only citing a few posters out of the brilliant legions. And the general lack of banal posts, with the converse over-abundance of supreme cerebral work. God bless Masquerade!
