BtVS watcher since:
Fall 1999. Started watching A:tS because I liked the Broody One and thought the action scene where he dusts two vamps with the stakes under his coat sleeves was cool. I didn't get the references, so a couple months later I surfed over to BtVS. Season 4 was enough to hook me, but season 5 made me an addict.

Hanging out at the ATPoBtVS Posting board since:
early season 5. It was an intense season, so I was looking for an intelligent chat (hoping against hope, actually). Did a Yahoo search and was attracted, and intimidated, by the word "philosophical."
-
Origin of posting name:
Javoher is a Farsi word for "jewel". Javoher pollo also a kind of Persian sweet rice dish I like.
-
Age / species / day-job:
33 / usually human but I switch to cat quite easily, and once in a while dog / unemployed buyer
-
Most memorable BtVS/AtS quote:
right now, just about anything Fred says. FRED "I hadda Uncle who used to drink himself silly every night of the week -- we all got our demons."
ANGEL "Did he get over his?
FRED (beat) "He drove his Ranchero into a sinkhole and drowned but that was a real poor example, man was dumber than paint... okay, maybe you got some beast in you, I know what it is to be squirrely and a freak with no one else to..."

Favorite philosopher:
I was raised on Spock ("The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few"), read Ayn Rand a little and Machiavelli in high school, and agree with OnM on Sparky Schultz since he taught me to read.
-
TTMQ:
arguably an 8. Sometimes a 3.
-
Strangest thread topic ever posted:
embarrassingly, free-associated an "all things lead to Spike" reply to a board troll's post who couldn't spell worth a plugged nickle. Chocolate was involved.
-
Coolest thread topic ever posted:
I went off on the use of sunlight and/or bright light as an emotive device in season 5.
-
Why I love this board more than unlife itself:
I don't meet up with people who stretch my mind often enough. I can't keep up with the heavy-duty philosophical stuff, but I try my damndest. I contribute if I can, but my background is in classical music, a more emotional form of logical communication, so my perspective is a little different.
